Travel Time!

Good morning family and friends! We hope this note finds everyone doing well. It is travel time at the Taylor house! John has block leave for a little over a week. "Block leave" is the time John has off before he deploys. We start our adventures tomorrow. We are going Orem, Utah to visit his family then the rest of the time we will be on some sort of adventure. We are looking into going to Moab, Utah or spending a few days in Vegas. My vote is Vegas but we shall see. Our friend, Kate, is going to watch the dogs so we have more flexibility traveling.

Happy Easter!

Hi Everyone!
Happy Easter! We hope everyone has had a great Easter. Emily and I hosted an Easter lunch-dinner at my house today. It was fun to use my china and silver. I always love a perfectly set dinner table with china & silver. We had fruit, cheese, crackers, chips to name a few of the appetizers. Dinner consisted of honey baked ham, potatoes, macaroni casserole, green bean casserole to name part of the dinner.  We had a wonderful wine and champagne selections thanks to Emily. I must say today would have not been a success without Emily's  help! Emily gets rockstar brownie points.

I also would like to point out how awesome Em has been the past few weeks. I broke my wrist almost three weeks ago and Emily has been helping bunches. She has cooked and cleaned my house more than once!

Pie Update

Hi everyone! Well, I am silly! I forgot to put the sugar down for the chocolate pie!
The receipt needs two cups sugar. I have also tried using Splenda but it does not work as well. I am not sure why but the pie turns out runny when using Splenda!

Hello!

Hi everyone! I hope this note finds everyone doing well! We have been busy at the Taylor house! We are now mostly settled in our home. Our new washer & dryer arrived yesterday. Seriously, I never thought I would be so excited to do laundry but after not having a washer & dryer for over a month it is great to wash our own clothes. John's "man cave" and office are done. I am currently working on my living room and dining room. I have hosted a few dinners already at the house so the dining room is in good enough shape to entertain.

We are getting back into the army routine. John is working nutty hours which is usual. I have gone to a few deployment meeting. I have joined the officers spouse club and family readiness group. Luckily, there is another family here from Fort Campbell. It has turned out to be great! John and Jeremy have been through one deployment together. I didn't get to meet his wife until we relocated to Colorado Springs. I think Lindsey is super nice and I am so glad to have a friend. My sister, Emily, has been a huge cheerleader for us! I have been able to see Emily a  few times already. We even had a lunch date at her work! John and I are looking forward to having Emily spend Easter with us.

A few quick notes about deployment:
As we are getting closer to late spring-early summer, deployment is in count-down days now. I know it will become obvious that I am not blogging much about John or his work. I am not told much and that is for his safety. Eventually, I will have an address to send care package and letters. I will be happy to pass along John's address via phone if anyone wants it. If anyone has specific questions, please feel free to call and ask. However, I may or may not know the answer. Please keep John and his soldiers in your prayers.

Much Love,
M&J
